Probably Stolen Machines: Every Machine, Its Power Use and What Modules Do
Every production machine with its value and nightly power cost, how modules change it, and four mechanics the game never spells out.
Updated 2026-11-04 · Game data v1.0.0.6
Probably Stolen has about twenty machines, from the 100-credit Fridge to the 15,000-credit Hypertech Turbo Booster, and most of them work overnight and draw power from an Energy Cell. Modules change how they work: Performance speeds a machine up, Efficiency cuts its power use, and Quality improves its output.
Values below are base values in the game. Shops add their own markup, so the price you pay is higher.
Which machines are there and what do they cost?

What do Performance, Efficiency and Quality modules do?
A machine adds up the percentages of every module in its bay. The three basic modules each cost 70 credits:
- Performance Module (+16% Performance). Work per night becomes base + base × Performance %. On the Evaporator that means more liquid removed; on the 3D Printer, fewer nights per print.
- Efficiency Module (+16% Efficiency). Power use becomes base − base × Efficiency %, never below 1.
- Quality Module (+8% Quality). Improves the output. Each machine reads Quality its own way: the 3D Printer divides it by 4, the Hydroponic System and Mirage Projector by 2, and the Water Purifier uses the raw number.
The 100-credit advanced modules trade one stat for another:
| Module | Performance | Efficiency | Quality |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overclock | +36% | −44% | — |
| Eco | −16% | +32% | — |
| Refinement | −8% | −15% | +25% |
| Streamlining (125) | +8% | +25% | −16% |
Basic modules can drop with a smaller shape and only 75% of their stats, and about half of all modules carry one random affix. Modules found in the first 21 days never have affixes. The
Chemical Equipment Module is different: chemistry machines only count how many you install, and once in, a chem module is stuck until you use a Module Extractor. The chemist guide covers what each count unlocks.
How much water does a Moisture Farm make?
A single
Moisture Farm makes 850 ml a night, plus its Performance percentage. Farms running on the same night share the air, so each one is divided by 1 + 0.25 × (number of farms − 1):
| Farms running | Output per farm | Total vs. one farm |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 100% | 1.0× |
| 2 | 80% | 1.6× |
| 3 | 67% | 2.0× |
| 4 | 57% | 2.3× |
| 6 | 44% | 2.7× |
The fourth farm adds less than a third of a farm's worth of water. Spend on Performance Modules first.
Water grade comes from Quality. With no modules a farm makes Ghostwater. Quality 50 lifts it to Basewater, 100 to High-Quality Water and 150 to Pure Water. A farm needs a battery that can pay the night's power and a bottle with space left.
How do Furnace ingots get their purity?
The
Furnace smelts two pieces of Scrap Metal or
Metal Ore into one
Metal Ingot each night. The ingot's purity level is:
Low + (2 × ore pieces ÷ total pieces, rounded down) + flux
Flux is the machine's Quality divided by 100, rounded down. In practice, 2 scrap makes a Low ingot, 1 scrap and 1 ore makes Fair, and 2 ore makes High. Each point of flux raises it one level, up to Perfect. The Blast module smelts 3 pieces into 2 ingots but costs one level.
A
Flux Smelting Agent (Basic) lifts flux to 1 when the furnace has none and is consumed. The
Flux Smelting Agent (Advanced) does the same but is never consumed — buy it once and it keeps working. Purity matters downstream: the 3D Printer applies from −30 for Very Low ingots to +100 for Perfect ones to what it prints.
What does the Turbo Booster do?
The
Advanced Turbo Booster runs one full overnight cycle on a machine right away. It charges 5 power a night from a battery and needs 15 to fire, so it can be used once every three nights. It works on standard overnight machines plus the Evaporator and the Fridge. The Hypertech Turbo Booster adds 5 to the charge rate with every upgrade.
A Turbo Booster does nothing for a machine missing its inputs, so load the Furnace or Evaporator before you fire it. The 35-credit Disposable Turbo Booster is a single-use version.
Which other machine effects are worth knowing?
- Evaporator. Without a Quality module the evaporated liquid is lost. With one, Quality % of it is recovered into a second container. The Solvent Recovery module recovers alcohol only.
- Alarm System. On nights without insurance, it stops a burglary with a chance of Performance + 50, plus 1 percent.
- Water Purifier. Quality sets the highest purity it can reach: 99% below Quality 15, then 99.15% at 15, 99.35% at 25, 99.65% at 50, 99.8% at 75, 99.9% (Pure Water) at 100 and 100% at 200.
- Mirage Projector. Store attractiveness becomes 100% + Quality ÷ 2 + Performance ÷ 4.
- AgeWell. Each night a finished wine ages 1 day plus Quality ÷ 125, gaining 3 credits per day. Performance lowers its power use too.
- Fridge. Chilled drinks get +20% and frozen ones +25%. Wine and unsealed water are not affected.
Which machine achievements are there?
Industrious needs ten machines at the start of a day. The check counts items of the Machine type, and in the game's data several production machines — the Furnace, Hydroponic System and 3D Printer among them — do not list that type on the item itself. Verify in game before counting on them.
Cranked to Eleven needs a single machine whose modules add up to 250 Quality. Refinement Modules give 25 each, and the contraband Neural Core modules give 50 or 100. The achievements list has the rest, the beginner guide covers which machine to buy first, and the Probably Stolen wiki links every system page.
FAQ
What do Performance, Efficiency and Quality modules do?
Performance makes a machine work faster, Efficiency lowers its nightly power use, and Quality improves what it produces. A machine adds up the percentages of every module in its bay, and some machines divide the total by a fixed ratio before using it.
Is it worth buying several Moisture Farms?
Only up to a point. Each Moisture Farm makes 850 ml a night on its own, but farms running the same night share the air: two make 80% each, four make 57% each, so four farms give about 2.3 times the water of one.
Does the Advanced Flux Agent get used up?
No. The basic Flux Smelting Agent is consumed each time it raises an ingot's purity, but the Advanced version gives the same boost and is never consumed.
What does the Advanced Turbo Booster do?
It runs one extra overnight cycle on a machine immediately. It charges 5 power a night from a battery and needs 15 to fire, so it can be used once every three nights.
How many machines do you need for the Industrious achievement?
Ten machines in your store at the start of a day. The check counts items of the Machine type, and the game's data suggests some production equipment may not carry that type, so count only what the game recognizes.
How do you get the Cranked to Eleven achievement?
Put modules with a combined Quality of 250 or more into one machine. Refinement Modules give the most Quality per slot among the common modules, and the contraband Neural Core modules add 50 or 100 each.
